Money Saving Tips

Second-Hand Thrift

There is a big trend now toward using other people’s ‘hand-me-downs’ or second-hand things. I have jumped on that bandwagon and grabbed the reins!

We are gifted tons of clothing from people who would like to help out a large family. I appreciate this tremendously. Here is a pile of nice dress shirts that my boys just won’t wear but are made of awesome quality fabrics and great prints. They are now in the sewing room ready to be repurposed.

When you visit this page you will find all kinds of practical, inexpensive ideas that I have put into practice to keep my crafting going without blowing the bank.

Cheaper Buying Alternatives for Supplies

I understand that not everyone, including me, has the money to go buy new whenever a creative chill goes up their spine. But wouldn’t it be cool if you could still chase that chill without spending the coin? Its what I do and I’ll show you how.

I bought 1 lb. of DMC and J&P Coats floss from a second-hand store online for the price of 53 skeins of floss at the big-name stores like Walmart, Joann Fabrics and Michaels. There are probably over 53 skeins in the top two bags alone and it is all brand new in the wrapper. SCORE!!

So, when the chill sends you into a sewing, crochet or knitting rabbit hole, I can help. Or maybe you can’t quite shake that quilting or cross-stitch fever. I can help you shake that fever by showing you alternative ways to find the supplies you need. Everything on a budget.

Let’s have some fun.
